Vegetative Team Lead (Cultivation)
Position Summary
Vegetative team leads provide all essential plant care functions within the Cultivation Department under the guidance and supervision of the Director of Cultivation, and in accordance with Cultivation Department SOPs. Working on tasks with your veg team including feeding and watering plants according to the feeding schedules, pruning, weighing/destroying/recording waste, cleaning cultivation areas, mixing soil, cloning, planting, and caring for living soil beds. Training new cultivation employees on vegetative room tasks.
Job Duties/Essential Functions
- Leading a Veg Team, including leading by example and ensuring the team is on-task
- Implementing policies and following schedules outlined by Cultivation Manager
- Implementing cloning, planting, and harvesting schedules
- Monitoring Veg phase soil health, plant health, and reporting immediately if anomalies are detected
- Ensuring propagation room is at proper humidity and temperature parameters
- Overall cleanliness and organization of the Veg rooms
- Ensuring Veg room records are up to date and accurate
- Ensuring all Safety and Security Policies are being followed
- Ensuring all Company Operational Policies are being followed
- Keeping mother plants healthy and properly manicured
- Alerting management of broken or malfunctioning equipment, missing or needed supplies, and policies that require review
- Contributing to a healthy and compliant atmosphere in the Cultivation Department
Essential Job Functions:
Ability to accurately perform the functions within the garden as directed by the Director of Cultivation
Ability to lift 50+ pounds safely
Ability to push/pull up to 75 pounds
Ability to bend/stoop/kneel/reach up to 90% of the workday
Ability to climb a ladder
Ability to carry 25 lbs. up a 12-foot ladder
Conducting oneself professionally and with good common sense.
Attention to detail
Ability to stand for 8+ hours per day
Ability to work and spray pesticides in an environment where temperatures can reach 85-90 degrees
Non-Essential Functions
Ability to assist in electronic record-keeping such as MJ Freeway.
Experience, skills, education & licenses/certifications
Required:
2 Hour Medical Cannabis Course required by the State of Pennsylvania completed during orientation.
Completed Orientation Training which include:
- 2 Years Cultivation Experience
- Proper Handling of Cannabis
- Proper Recordkeeping
- Anti-diversion Training, Including Zero Tolerance Policy
- Security Procedures
- Medical Emergency Response
- Fire Response
- Chemical Spill Response
- Armed Robbery/Burglary Response
- Criminal Incident Response and Reporting
- Open Door Policy
- HIPAA Training
High School Diploma or GED preferred.
Ability to pass criminal background check.
Ability to pass drug screening.
Must be current on annual safety and Worker Protection Standards training within 30 days of hire.
Recommended:
Experience in any relevant trades, including horticulture, food handling, etc.
